Based on the latest technologies from laboratories and engine test benches, as well as on long-standing experience, our automotive catalysts meet the requirements to comply with today's strict limits and to reduce harmful emissions such as hydrocarbons (HC), carbon monoxide (CO), nitrogen oxides (NOx), and particulate matter.
Umicore and its affiliated companies support their customers by developing emission control systems, with engine test benches in Brazil, Germany, Japan, Korea, and the United States, as well as providing customer service in sales, marketing, and technical services on five continents. We also have state-of-the-art laboratories in Germany, Japan and the United States.
Worldwide, our factories are certified according to QS9000 and VDA6.1 in Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, Japan, South Africa, South Korea, Sweden, and the USA, and in the future - India.
When opening up new markets, particularly in Asia, Latin America, and South Africa, our catalyst experts were the industry leaders. With their experience and catalyst expertise, they supported the introduction of stricter exhaust emission standards. Umicore was also the first to offer locally produced emission control catalysts for cars.
